RS Regulars: Why do bad guys always unravel all their plans in gory detail instead of shootin the hero already?

Because in films, it's not practical to allow the viewer to see the thoughts and plans of the bad guy. Instead, they try to sum it up with some insane confession/explanation that also gives the good guy time to get away. That's why it's better to read. In books, you get a little more information as you go along, and those idiotic plot lines are few and far between.
