We are going to Disney World this summer. My wife and I want to surprise our 7 year old with the trip and we want it to be something he never forgets. What is the fastest first-year growing bamboo with highest yield?

In our nursery in Florida, we grow or have grown several varieties of bamboo. The preferred has been one of the the Multiplex species due to relative speed and ease to produce. With the Moso and other tall timber bamboo, the height of your ceiling won't limit their growth. They will keep going, even curling and coiling as they hit the ceiling. I would be looking for one of the Multiplexes. Perhaps Fernleaf, Alphonse Karr, Golden Goddess or Silver Stripe. You can go to one of the trade magazines (online) that we use to source some of the growers of various plants at www.plantfindervts.com and search for Bambusa in the green goods search. It will pull up a list of various bamboo and some growers. Some phone calls to them may get your answer. At my nursery it is just the Fernleaf and Hedge Bamboo in production. Dig up a little of the field grown stock bamboo and stick it in a container. With some water, fertilizer and weed control, a full 6-8' bamboo is produced in a 15 gallon container in as little as 18 months. Canes are smaller, typically less than an inch, but it is a good bamboo. The other species mentioned above get bigger canes over an inch. Oldhamii is the giant bamboo we used to grow (canes 4-6" and fast) but it was to fast and quickly became difficult to care for if there were not buyers. If you can find someone that has bamboo, of any kind, see if they will let cut/dig some of it out and start your own.

ok this is gonna take some practice, but heres what you do: as you tune your string with the peg, push the peg farther into the peg box with your hand. use your other hand to brace your violin so it doesnt go flying. this will take some practice. if this doesnt work, get an orchestra teacher, private lesson teacher, luthier (violin maker), or music store owner to help. most of the aformentioned people will have a kind of sticky liquid that the can put on your pegs to make them stick more

I don't know if im starting to just notice it now i dont think i am but im zoning out a lot recently is it my sleep schedule? because it was bad this year always waking up at 300 pm or later and staying up till 800 am, but now im exercising and have my sleep on schedule. Should I be satisfied with what I have with girls?

Ok well I get a lot of girls in total from the year of 2010 and 2011 i have gotten at least 15 girls or so. not in the sense of relationship but all like intense flirting. The thing is I haven't been in a relationship for years. I'm not really complaining though because like i always have a girl in my arms but in the end we always stay in that friend zone. I have been talking to this guy for about 10 months now. During the first couple of months I would talk to him about everything, including all of my guy problems and he would help me through them. He even gave me advice because I liked his friend for awhile, and he told me it was a bad idea, which it was. He asked me to homecoming and prom, but I said no because I didn't go to homecoming and I went to prom with the guy I really liked at the time. In February, I was talking with him in class, and he told me, "Esme, I really like you,and I've liked you for the past four years.", but he had a girlfriend, which he still has now. I told him if he didn't break up with his girlfriend, I couldn't be anything more than friends, because I had started to really like him too. He then told me he would break up with his girlfriend for me. We then went to a gymnastics meet to take pictures for yearbook and he took me and some friends to his house, and we ate some pizza. He took my friends home and I didn't want to be at home by myself, so I asked him if he wanted to go to a park and talk for awhile and he said sure why not. It was really cold, so by the time we got back in his car, he was really cold, because I was wearing a sweater and he wasn't. When we got in the car, he told me his hands were really cold and if I could warm them up, so we held hands, nd we went to Sonic to get specialty drinks. He kept on poking me while he was driving because I'm really ticklish and he loves to hear me laugh. We then left Sonic and we went back to my house and we were just sitting in the car and he kept on poking me and poking me, and I was leaning towards him and I looked at him and he looked at me, and we kissed. My conscience got the best of me, and I realized after about ten seconds we shouldn't have kissed because he was still with his girlfriend. I told him I better go and I hugged him and I went inside. I left the following week but before I left, I felt really guilty for kissing the guy, so I told his girlfriend. When I came back, I was told him and his girlfriend broke up. I felt really bad because I thought I was the reason they broke up, so I completely stopped talking to him. While I wasn't talking to him, he sent me a note and dedicated a song to me. I really liked him, but I didn't want to be a slut,that's what all my friends said I would be if I did go out with him. He went back to his girlfriend after about a month and me and him took another ride to my house, but nothing happened, except him playing the song he dedicated to me. He said every time he hears it, it reminded him of me. I realized I really liked him, and I didn't care what people would say, so I told him that I really liked him. He said he like me so much too, but he didn't want to break his girlfriend's heart over me, again. He's not in town right now, so he sent me a message saying, hi mi amor(my love). What degree in the healthcare field should I secure my degree in?

I don't want a Nurses degree, or Healthcare administration jobs, nor Medical assistant, nor Patient care technician. Absolutely nothing to do with blood and needles. I have narrowed it down to these two fields and I need a little more confidence before choosing. First, a DTR( Dietitian Technician)this requires only an associates degree but makes only 25k-30k a year. a RD(registered dietitian) I hear they make upwards of 50k a year. There is not a huge job market demand for these positions, but Americans aren't getting any healthier :-) and the job seekers for these positions are not numerous. Or seek a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. An associates degree will leave me with the basics and further education can branch into specialties, cardiac, respiratory, gynecology. The earning potential with this degree I feel is a lot less limited than that of the Dietetics field. I am most passionate about the Dietetics but feel an urge to seek a better paying degree. Anyone with any personal experience with either field can you help guide me to the best decision for me? Thanks!

Are other people as discouraged as me, by the U.S. government and leadership in our country? Why?

I am in my 40s too, but I don't blame Wall Street or the rich. I blame the government for tinkering with a system that worked pretty damn well for more than 150 years. Our country went from being a new, second rate country in 1776 to a super power within 175 years. How did the USA go from nothing to superpower in less than 200 years when no other country EVER has done that? It is called FREEDOM. Freedom to make money, freedom to do as you wish, freedom to invent and freedom from an oppressive government. For most of our history we had very light federal government intrusion in our daily lives. That started changing in the 1930s. Aside from Reagan, it has only gotten worse since about 1950. Yet a lot of people keep saying they want MORE government regulation to help "fix" the problems. Hasn't anyone realized that as the government has gotten bigger in the last 50-75 years, the more screwed up things get?

Poems you can almost sing are poems that sway - but be impeccable and study iambs - not a particularly necessary advice but the knowledge of iambs may help a lot. ... despite the fact that my sons dad has a secret love child with me (your thinking secret?!)- well, he wouldnt inform any of his family or friends that he got a kid for some reason I cant unravel. Yeah, I agree with everyone else, but want to add, if a child needs to go to a dr and you're worried about being seen, there's always the state health dept's clinic. They see anyone, regardless of ins, in a fairly timely manor. (they also have a dentist there, btw- goes off of income if you don't have medicaid.)

37 weeks pregnant with GD and worried.?

My OB sent me to a specialty doctor for high risk pregnancies for an ultrasound to see how big my baby girl is getting. After finding out she's already 7lbs 4oz the doctor tells me (keep in mind this doctor was rude and made me cry once what he said sunk in.) That because of my sugars being a bit high more recently he wants me to come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound to make sure she has a heartbeat and that she's moving. I am actually 37wks tomorrow btw. He also wants me to go for non stress tests 2 times a week instead of the once a week I have been doing since I was 33 weeks. I always pass my nst with flying colors, she's always active. I don't understand why he would say something like that to a pregnant woman. He made me feel like she's going to be a still born. I cried my eyes out when I left the office. I had my son 2 1/2 years ago and had gestational diabetes as well and my sugars got all wacky at this time as well and he's a perfectly healthy little boy. They never treated me like that with my son. Im furious and think I am going to tell my OB how the specialty doctor treated me. He was miserable and scared the hell out of me. I just want my baby girl here asap now bc of how he scared me.

What is the proper procedures and guidelines to mail a shotgun?

When you are shipping a gun use UPS. USPS will not accept it and I'm not sure about FedEX. They will give you the least amount of trouble. As for shipping it wouldbe like shipping any other item. But since it is going over state lines you have to ship it to an FFL for transfer. Even to immediate family as it is crossing state lines and therefore the interstate commerce clause. The only exceptions to that is if you are shipping a gun to the factory for repairs and from them back to you as you own it or to yourself if you were say moving out of state.

think about...my nuclear family... I'm a single guy who's in his late 30s who's been working mostly as a temp the past several years, but the assignments have dried up pretty much, due to the economy and outsourcing.. I'm living presently at my Dad's house.. part of me wants to just get out of NY altogether ... it's expensive to live here..and I'm just in general dissatisfied with how far I've gone in life.. I don't know why, but I think if I moved out westward, things would fall into place - I'd land a decent job (the pay may be lower, but possibly comfortable), jump start my dating scene - who knows, maybe find a girlfriend who'll eventually marry me - the perpetual bachelor idea kind of freaks me out at this point..and be all in all much happier. Back to my nuclear family - this consists of my Dad and younger brother - he's entering his late 30s now and also single. My Dad's short-term memory is somewhat slowing down.. there were times when he locked himself out of his house, and thanks to me being around and out of work, I was able to help him get back in. I worry about him. My brother started a new time-demanding office job, and we're proud of him. At the same time, he's not that available to help out my Dad, as he'd like. And we don't hold that against my bro at all.. I'm pleased that he's doing well (he was out of work prior to that too for awhile) and wish him much success. I don't know guys and gals - should I consider the move out (this would be risky since I don't have any opportunities waiting for me) or stick around here? I just can't see myself doing all that well in NY - I'm bright, but I guess not a genius or highly super bright, since I didn't study engineering, physics or statistics and earned PhDs, and now am a professor or a highly paid consultant for a pharmaceutical company. New York is a tough (well, the part where I live, which is not that far north of NYC - a real competitive zone) place to build a career - well, one which brings a big salary. I personally don't require a metropolitan atmosphere to work and live in..the suburbs are fine with me.

One puzzle to which i had no solution as a child was how my cousin could seal an envelope with his saliva. Each time he wrote a letter for my illiterate father, he merely ran his tongue over the inner edge of the flap of the envelope, folded it and then sealed it. Just like that! In my puzzlement, i tried the same trick repeatedly with two pieces of paper but my salive failed to hold them together. I then theorized that my cousin's saliva must be gummy. If that was so, why wasn't mine? My studied search for solution led to the very sound conclusion that my cousin's saliva was gummy because he was the only educated man in the family. By extension, i reasoned that all educated people have sticky saliva. But it didn't take me long to wonder why my cousin's lower jaw was not stuck to the upper jawg indeed, i wondered how morsels of food could roll down to his gullet without sticking to his tongue and the patate. Each time i was around when he ate, i watched him put one morsel after another into his mouth without experiencing any problem in getting down. After many days, indeed weeks, of pondering over this thorny issue, i decided that while all educated men had sticky saliva they had developed a special mechanism for neutralizing the stickiness when eating. My theory received a severe jolt one day when father had to get a letter written but my cousin was not around. Father sent to the next house for his niece, the nearest educated person. After the lady had witten the latter, father brought out an old envelope which had probably been lying forgotten for months on his cupboard. But to my amazement, the flap would not stick well to the body of the envelope no matter how many times she applied her saliva. In the end, father used some pap as gum. With this, my new puzzle was "why was educated man's saliva stick while the woman's saliva wes not?" Before long, i decided that the woman's saliva was not so sticky because she was not as learned as the man. So i updated my theory: the more learned a person was, the more gummy his saliva would be. Fine theory. The death knell sounded on my latest theory one day when father sent me to buy an envelope from a nearby shop. Having bought it, i studied its flap closely and discovered that its inner edge had some glossy material. It felt sticky to my touch. Curiously, i ran my tongue over it and sealed the envelope. That was it! It got stuck, refusing to be parted no matter how much i tried. When i delivered it that way, father rightly guessed that i had tampered with it. Although i recieved a spanking, i was consoled that at last, i had unravelled the mystery.

Pimples all over my face and jaw?

i've always had an acne problem, but not this bad! it happened about 3 months ago...i started getting tiny pimples ALL OVER my face, and my t-zone area gets big pimples. the side of my face, my jaw and neck used to be smooth but now its all bumpy. the pores on my face are badly clogged, and ive tried going for a facial before and it didnt help.. so im guessing this bad breakout is my clogged pores finally acting out... i dont know what to do! my skin looks horrible and im scared they are guna leave scars if i dont do something quick!

Basil plant is dropping healthy leaves. Overwatered? Or in need of harvesting?

actually, the main problem is that you let it go to seed. this tells the plant that it's job of propogating itself is done! when herbs go to seed to soon, the plant usually doesn't recover. i had the same trouble with my oregano a year or two ago. in the future, pick off the flower buds as they form. this actually forces the plant to grow bigger and stronger, sending out more flowers to try to propogate. you might as well harves what you can now, buddy. sorry.

How do you unravel a skein of yarn?

Any normal skein of yarn that you buy from Michaels or Wal-Mart. I know your supposed to pull the string that is coming from the center so it unravels easily but I don't know how to find that end of the string when it's not sticking out of the skein. Can anyone help?

Okay. So about a month and a half ago I bought 2 grams of blue dream weed from a friend. I smoked it a few times and I loved it. So then one day I had a baseball game and i got mad at my dad who is a coach and I threatened to not go to the game if he didn't do something and he didn't so he left and I stayed home. I was extremely mad at him so I decided to smoke some of my blue dream. I rolled a joint and smoked it. It was a pretty decent size and I took probably 15-20 decent rips which is a lot. I walked inside and was doing homework and then it kicked in. I went outside and it felt like I was dead literally. I was tweaking so bad so I called a friend and he came over. When he was on his way I went inside. I started to walk up my stairs and I saw an un-describable picture in my head. I kept walking and all of the sudden everything went blurry and super fast motion and I laid down. I couldn't control anything - what I was doing, saying, etc. I kept seeing pictures in my head and also numbers. It looked like it was a movie in front of me and i can only describe it as it looked like my childhood for some reason. My eyes would just look at a few things and then fixate on a random thing. It was the scariest thing I have every experienced in my life. I can't really explain it anymore. So anyway, a few nights ago I snuck out with my friend, his girlfriend, and also a friend who is a girl. So we were on a golf course and we decided to go somewhere else so we all stood up but I was a little behind. I popped a piece if mentos gum into my mouth. I few seconds after my mouth and throat went as dry as they've ever been. I tried to scream to them but i couldn't out get anything out. I leaned over and tried to talk. One of my friends turned around and said dude are you okay. I couldn't talk still. It lasted for about 15 seconds if no breathing. But while I was "choking" I saw the same things I saw when I tripped really bad and that was over a month ago. My eyes fixated on things the same way as before. So then I told my friends what happened. I told my guy friend about the incident that happened because he smokes weed too. We decided to go into one of my friends car and just sleep. Then when I woke up me my friend went home. So now it has been a few days and sometimes I feel like life is fake. It feels like a dream and everytime I think about life not being real I totally zone out. I feel high all of the time. I eat a lot, and enshrine I start talking to someone I forget what I am saying. And when I do something I don't remember what I am doing. I have a terrible memory now. absolutely terrible. And like I said before, if I ask the question to myself, "is life real" I feel like I am in a dream and everything is fake. I just want to go back to normal like. Please help me!!! In my instructional book, it says that I should first wash the fabric (a cotton shirting fabric) and to do so, I should trim the raw edges with pinking shears so that they don't unravel. Does this include the selvedge?? Because 1/5th inch of the selvedge looks a bit frayed. And if I have to trim the selvedge, how will I know after washing which side is the selvedge (so that I can cut the length along the selvedge) and which is not?

I am going to a pain specialist next week. Is it ok to ask for a pain management agreement?

I was diagnosed with 2 herniated discs three weeks ago by a chiropractor. MRI's to prove it. I have chronic pain from my butt all the way down to my ankle. I feel like I have a sprained ankle anytime I stand. My toes go numb and I have the pins and needles feeling all thoughout my foot. It feels like Mike Tyson punched me in the ***. (Thats how sore it feels). I can stand for 10 mins tops before I have to sit. He was giving me pain meds, such as percocet, vicodin, and even a weeks supply of steroids ( which did nothing). I really liked how the percocet got me through the day. I went back to the chiropractor a few times for refills. Then he started the crap, that he really doesnt want to give me narcotics because of addiction and I am a really young guy (28) blah blah blah. So he gave me a non-narcotic, Ultram (tramadol) which did absolutely nothing for pain. I felt really upset that I had something making me feel normal, to then only get meds that are like taking asprin. The last thing he told me was "Im refering you to a pain specialist, I think thats what you need." After all, their specialty is pain." I think you will feel much better after they give you an epidural" Well, I don't want an epidural. I don't want anyone sticking needles in my back. I would rather wait a couple months to see how I progress before making any decision like this. I have heard many positive and negative things about epidurals. To be completely honest, I just want the pain meds. Would it be wise to ask the pain specialist for the pain management agreement? Are you allowed to do that? I'm just not sure how to go about it without sounding like a junkie. Any suggestions. Please be kind.

You need to contact your local VA medical network (hospital). I am a Vietnam vet and always assumed I did not qualify for VA assistance because none of my current medical conditions are service related. It turns out they don't have to be (although one of my conditions actually turned out to be). My brother-in-law, who is a Vietnam era vet, like your father he did not serve in country, had been getting treatments for a back condition sustained on the job (non-service related) and my sister nagged me into going to the VA for a check-up. I brought my DD-214 to prove I was a vet, and they never blinked an eye. I got service immediately. I do not see why your father would be denied VA help for his current problem. It will not be free, but the expense is relatively cheap in comparison to trying to pay for it yourself.

Power adapter cable ripped?What to do?

So I have a Dell laptop and I have had it maybe a year. When I first got it somhow the riggid part by the tip of the cable ripped. I plaaced tape there so that the begining part wont bend and ripp any further. Now I have unravelled the tape a year later. Pimples all over my face and jaw?

I don't want to have to feed them specialty food for their specific breed like they have at Petsmart because they share food and play musical bowls every meal time. Any suggestions?
