I think I may be a bad wife....?

Your not a bad wife, he should be helping you out, and your not his maid. Tell him if he doesn't like how you clean than hire a cleaning service to come once a week. I'm not sure what you can say to him if he was bought up that way. I use to do everything to and I got really sick of it. And of course from time to time he would comment about it. I flat out told him if you don't like how I did it than you clean it. There is no perfect people out here, Marriage is a partnership and should be considered in all aspect of it not dumping everything in your lap and making cruel comments. Good Luck.
