Recommend a lipstick/gloss that will stay on all day without drying out my lips?

I've never worn much lipstick or lip gloss and I was thinking about trying some new colors. The last gloss I used (Covergirl Outlast) stayed on pretty good, but it made my lips feel sort of dry and gross. What should I try? Preferably something I don't have to go to a specialty store to buy.
